Our commitment to sustainable restaurant furniture and green practices
At New England Seating, we believe that being a leading manufacturer goes hand-in-hand with environmental responsibility. Our commitment to providing sustainable restaurant furniture drives our selection of materials and our manufacturing processes. From responsibly sourced wood to low-VOC finishes, every piece of sustainable restaurant furniture we produce is designed with the planet in mind. We actively work to reduce waste and implement green initiatives throughout our Connecticut facility to ensure our handcrafted seating meets the highest eco-friendly standards.
Here are a few of the ways we do this:
- Utilizing energy efficient machinery combined with best practices for power consumption preservation when our machines are not in use
- Implementing state of the art solar panels to power our manufacturing facility
- Maintaining and upgrading our utilities to minimize waste and reduce emissions
- Recycling almost all of our excess raw materials from our production process, including wood, foam and scrap metal
- Recycling or donating our old computers, tech and IT equipment
- Re-using pallets for both internal and external transportation
- Using blanket wrap shipping instead of cardboard and other disposable materials
- Re-using and re-purposing cardboard we receive from incoming materials and deliveries
- Recycling all hazardous factory and office materials (batteries, light bulbs, ink cartridges, chemicals, etc.) properly
- Implementing internal bottle and can recycling programs within our office and shop
- Driving newer delivery trucks to achieve higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions
- Monitoring our fuel consumption for delivery and optimizing all delivery and pickup routes
